DeMbare fade badly

Herentals..…(1) 1

Dynamos………0

NOT so long ago, they were dreaming of being champions.

Now, it’s unlikely they will even finish second.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya could not hide his disappointment after falling to Herentals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium.

It was yet another dull performance by the Glamour Boys, who failed to create any meaningful chance throughout the game.

They had, however, started the match brightly.

But, the Students upped the ante and scored the match’s solitary goal in the 43rd minute through a Prince Chama header.

Dynamos’ chances of securing second place now hang in the balance as they are now three points adrift of second-placed Chicken Inn, with one game to get to the end of the season.

The Gamecocks salvaged a goalless draw against Yadah on Friday.

“We were below par, we were casual and lacked urgency in our approach,” said Ndiraya.

“After the break, we came back energised, and tried to push for an equaliser, but we failed to score.

“I’m really disappointed that last week we played well, but drew.

“I thought we would replicate last week’s performance today.

“We have not been consistent enough in our last three games and it’s happening at the wrong time.”
