STRUGGLING Dynamos have appealed to their fans to stay calm despite a miserable start to the season, which leaves them among the bottom four in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after nine weeks.
Wednesday’s goalless draw at Greenfuel left Dynamos 11 points behind unbeaten newcomers, MWOS after nine games.
Dynamos have managed just one victory against Simba Bhora and just two goals in nine matches and a section of their fans has started making noise, calling for change in the technical set up.
Yesterday the club decided to issue a statement to their supporters and stakeholders, pleading for patience as they try to come up with a winning formula after being forced to come up with a new-look team following the departure of a number of first team players from their 2024 squad.
“Dynamos Football Club is aware of the concerns and frustrations that our valuable fans have endured week in week out in the wake of seemingly elusive expected results for the league matches the team has played so far,” read part of the statement.
The club believes the new players will soon be a solid unit and the team will move out of the relegation zone.
“The new players who joined the club this season require support and patience as they settle down into a club with high expectations and performance standards.
“We would like to appeal to our legion of fans to remain calm and patient during this period,” added the statement.
The plea for patience and support also applies to the technical team headed by coach, Lloyd Chigowe whop started the season well by winning the Castle Challenge Cup against his former assistant, Joel Luphahla and Simba Bhora.
They have not been so fortunate in the Castle Lager Premiership and have lost too much ground in the race for the championsip.
“All the structures of the Club including Coaches, Players and the fans require each other as we all search for a solution to turn the corner.
“This is a delicate process which is however unavoidable in the wake of the Club’s unfamiliar position and points to date on the log table.
“The club is deeply indebted to the fans and their leadership for their unwavering support that they have continued to demonstrate during this dark phase.
“As match day 10 against Scotland FC beckons, we appeal to the fans to come out in their numbers in support of the team,” concludes the statement.
On Sunday, Dynamos will be back at Rufaro as they host Scottland.
