DEMBARE versus BOSSO?

WHAT about Dynamos versus Highlanders in Malawi?

Callisto Pasuwa versus Mark Harrison in the final of the Airtel Top 8 on Sunday – in a way it will have a DeMbare/Bosso soundtrack.

The two coaches, who guided the Glamour Boys and Bosso in the domestic Premiership, have now led their Malawian sides to a dream Airtel Top 8 final showdown in Malawi.

Pasuwa is in charge of Nyasa Big Bullets while Englishman Harrison is now in charge of Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

They are Malawi’s two biggest football clubs and bitter rivals.

Harrison celebrated his 62nd birthday in style on Sunday.

The Englishman led by side into the final following a 2-0 win over Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Former Orlando Pirates striker Chiukepo Msowoya and Yamikani Chester scored for Wanderers.

Wanderers, as the Nomads are called, now date their sworn rivals Nyasa Big Bullets in the final on December 17 at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Psuwa’s Bullets eliminated Silver Strikers 3-1 on Saturday to set up the final meeting with the sworn rivals Wanderers.

Sunday’s win mean that Harrison has now gone four games undefeated and without conceding since becoming Wanderers head coach.

The Englishman first joined Wanderers as technical director.

However, the dynamics of Harrison’s appointment changed when he was made head coach after the redeployment of Alex Ngwira.

Harrison has since seized the opportunity going four games unbeaten in all competitions.

Wanderers have scored six goals and are yet to concede since Harrison took over.

It remains to be seen if Harrison can lead Wanderers to silverware on December 17 2022.

The ex-Township Rollers gaffer will be up against a Bullets side who want to make it a clean sweep of silverware this season.

Harrison has since told the Wanderers family that it would take some two years to reach the level of professionalism of Bullets.

Bullets, under Pasuwa, have already won the FDH Cup and the TNM Super League.

Pasuwa wrapped up the title to make it four on the bounce.

Now, next on the table for Bullets is the Airtel Top 8 to wrap up the year with a clean sweep.

The Airtel Top 8 involves teams which finished in the top eight league places by the end of the first round. – Sports Reporter/FARPost
