DENVER Mukamba has promised to turn back the hands of time on his second coming at Dynamos after the midfielder received his reverse clearance yesterday and just in time to make it for tomorrow’s clash with Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba.
Mukamba, who has had to endure a frustrating two weeks since his return from South Africa because of delays in the clearance, said he could not wait for the moment to wear the Glamour Boys strip again.
Dynamos are enjoying a good run which has seen them unbeaten in the last six outings. Their five match winning run was halted by How Mine when they featured in a goalless draw at Barbourfields on Thursday, but they are looking to bounce back when they return to their homeground tomorrow.
“I am back at Dynamos. I am very excited that my club has been in form collecting maximum points and avoiding a defeat against How Mine.
“The second round belongs to Dynamos. I am going to play a part to make sure that we win the championship. Our position as Dynamos has always been number one so we must reclaim it on the log.
“I am appealing to the Dynamos legion of fans to rally behind the team as they always do. I appreciate their support and on Sunday I am promising fireworks. I want them to come in numbers and watch what I have in store for them. We will be back on top after five games.
“I am not going to the battle alone. We are a team. On Thursday it was not our day against How Mine, but we still managed to get a point away from home,” he said.
Mukamba was greeted with wild cheers from the Mpilo End at Barbourfields on Thursday.
Team manager Richard Chihoro yesterday said his availability was a huge morale booster.
DeMbare coach Lloyd Mutasa has been aiming to reinforce the side going forward. Mukamba’s arrival will also provide options as he also has the likes of Masimba Mambare, newboy Simba Gorogodyo for the attacking midfield role.
Mutasa is happy with the way his team has been defending after keeping five clean sheets in their last five outings. They have all their players available except Ocean Mushure who was being monitored after picking up a groin injury.
DeMbare are currently fourth on the log standings with 24 points after 14 games. Mutasa and his assistants Gift Muzadzi and Murape Murape have all worked under Chidzambwa and tomorrow they will be plotting the downfall of their mentor.
Chidzambwa is under the spotlight following a poor run of results in recent outings. ZPC Kariba have not won in their last four games. ZPC Kariba lost to Harare City in their last match at home during the midweek, but Mutasa said they will not take their opponents lightly.
“It’s a challenging task. We accepted the offer to be part and parcel of the Dynamos family knowing that we are going to come through such obstacles and we are prepared to meet ZPC.
“He (Chidzambwa) mentored me to be what I am today, but I will put that aside on the day. I give him the respect and it’s nice to meet him on Sunday at Rufaro Stadium.
“It will be nice for him to see the performance of his former pupil. I am eyeing for the three points just like him and I hope that the better team of the day will win,” said Mutasa.
“Mukamba is a blessing to us, he is a big advantage to us. I never doubted his abilities, I know what he is capable of doing and he is one player I badly need in the Dynamos family.”
ZPC Kariba will miss two key players — Tawanda Nyamandwe and Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe — through injuries.
