Deposit protection key: Minister Mthuli

Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube the Government is committed to ensuring that depositors’ funds are safeguarded by a safety net.

Professor Ncube said this during the official opening of the Deposit Protection Corporation offices in Borrowdale Suburb, Harare.

DPC also received ISO 9001:2015 certification.

“The critical role that deposit protection plays in maintaining public confidence in the financial system cannot be underestimated,” he said.

“The Deposit Protection Corporation serves as a vital safety net for depositors, ensuring that their hard-earned savings are protected in the event of bank failure.”

DPC provides free deposit insurance for all bank depositors in Zimbabwe.

In the event of a bank failure, DPC compensates depositors up to the prevailing cover limit.
