HWANGE FC travel to crosstown rivals ZPC Hwange for a ZIFA Southern Region Division One League showdown this weekend.
Hwange lead the log standings by five points, and victory will take them a step closer to a return to the top-flight league.
A win for second-placed ZPC Hwange will see them narrowing the gap to two points, with five games to go, before the season ends.
Hwange’s speedy winger, Shepherd Gadzikwa, said morale is high in camp, ahead of the derby.
Gadzikwa is the coalminers’ top scorer with nine goals.
The two sides settled for a 2-2 stalemate in the reverse tie.
“A derby is one of the trickiest fixtures.
“We are all desperate for maximum points and we can’t afford to lose this one.
“The energy levels are high in the camp, and we all want to collect maximum points.
“We are not only going to treat this game as a derby, but also as a final.
“We are appealing to our fans to come and witness exciting football.
“There’s so much confidence in camp, and nothing beats unity,” he said.
