BULAWAYO-based gospel group Destiny Praise will on 7 September hold auditions for musicians at Paint World Building in Bulawayo.
The auditions will run from 2pm to 5pm and up to 50 singers are expected to attend.
The group, which has been holding a number of shows in and around town and has won many fans with their top drawer performances, is looking to add more members. This follows an increase in demand for their performances.
In an interview, group manager Abraham Morrison Lungu said there is an increase in demand for the group and they are under pressure hence they want to bring in new talented singers who will perform when other band members are engaged somewhere.
“We are trying to mould the group the same way as international group Joyous Celebrations or local group ZimPraise. We want to have a big pool of singers and right now we have a small number yet we have many shows to perform every week,” he said.
Lungu said they are looking for up to 15 singers and are not selective as to how many will be female and how many male, as long as a person is talented.
“I call upon anyone who has or thinks has a talent to come and audition with us. We are an interdenominational group and singers from all the different church are free to attend,” he said.
During the auditions, participants will be allowed to sing two songs, one their own choice and the other a set piece. A panel of judges will select those who show good singing abilities.
