BULAWAYO-based gospel outfit Destiny Praise gave a top drawer performance at the Alliance Church youth camp at Founders’ High School at the weekend.
Destiny Praise’s show only lasted an hour because of the tight programme at the conference but in that hour, the group won many hearts and left many wonderingwhy they are still an unknown group on the music scene.
Performances by Carlos Jiri and Vusimuzi Bright Moyo left the crowd close to tears. They two took turns in dishing hit after hit as they sang songs such as Ichokwadi and dai asiri Jesu, much to the delight of fans.
“I am happy with their performance, they gave such a polished act for us and I will definitely follow their music,” said Jenny Marondera.
In an interview, Destiny Praise leader Abraham Morrison Lungu thanked the Alliance Church for giving them a chance to showcase their talents to its congregation.
“I am happy with the response we got from these guys (Alliance Youth), they have given us a boost as many of them are asking for our CDs. We will be recording soon and by the time we do so, we want to be having a strong and huge fan base. This is the reason we are doing these shows in churches and for free,” he said.
Meanwhile Harare based ZimPraise Choir wooed fans at a Word of Life Conference held at ZITF Hall over the weekend.
The group mesmerised those who were at the ZITF hall with their polished and neatly orchestrated music. The group promised fans that they will be back on the last weekend of the month.
The group slowly making Bulawayo its hunting ground left fans in celebratory mood with its powerful praise and worship songs. The song Sungano proved to be the fan favourate as the congregation kept asking for it.
