Details emerge of woman who was murdered, copse dumped at borehole

DETAILS surrounding the mysterious murder of a patron, who was killed at a pub in Hopley before the corpse was dumped at a borehole, have emerged.

The woman, Mary Kapuka was allegedly murdered by two fellow patrons after an altercation.

Arnold Chapfurika was hauled to court over the weekend to answer charges of allegedly murdering Kapuka.

Allegations are that on May 15, Chapfurika and his accomplice, only known as Ben, who is at large, were on their way from a bar when they had an altercation with Kapuka.

The two allegedly assaulted Kapuka with fists before strangling her to death.

They allegedly left her body at a borehole near Rising Star School in Hopley.

The corpse was seen the next morning by residents who intended to fetch water at the borehole.

A post mortem was conducted and it was discovered that Kapuka died from strangulation.
