Minister Shamu also commissioned the electrification of the school that was also sponsored by the bank. “Let us get involved in the implementation of some of the development projects that we have heard cited by the school headmaster,” Minister Shamu said.
He said parents should not leave it to the school authorities to educate their children.
Minister Shamu said parents should play their role and monitor the development and progress of their children.
Barclays managing director Mr George Guvamatanga noted that rural electrification was one of Zimbabwe’s key areas of economic development.
“This project on electrification directly impacts a wider community agenda, guided by the country’s focus on economic development.
“It will bring to the fore access to technology, improved business services and a change in culture within the existing social framework.”
Minister Shamu pledged to pay school fees for three pupils namely Francis Madhuva, Kudzai Mupandira and Evernice Zulu.
The three will receive two pairs of complete school uniforms each and their families will receive three 50kg bags of maize.
