Residents of Ward 18 in Mudzi have hailed Government following the commissioning of Mavhurazi Secondary School, which was built using devolution funds.
The Minister of State for Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Dr Apollonia Munzverengwi recently commissioned the school.
“I cannot hide my excitement, this is wonderful,” said Mrs Chido Chibanda, whose child is a student at Mavhurazi.
“Our children are now learning in a more conducive environment. We are appealing to authorities to assist in the construction of more classroom blocks, a staff house for our teachers, as well as a science and computer lab,” she said.
Another parent, Mr Godwell Chidembo also applauded authorities for the development.
“We are witnessing development here in Mudzi and this is commendable. The school is nearer to our homes and our children no longer have to walk long distances to get to school,” he said.
“What makes me even happier is that the community also assisted in its construction. This makes us feel proud and responsible. Now that the school has been commissioned, we expect our children to work hard and excel. We also expect more teachers to be deployed.”Devolution: Mudzi’s Mavhurazi community commends Government
