A GALAXY of local and visiting artistes will tomorrow (Saturday) be part of the line-up during celebrations for Zimpapers’ commercial radio station, Diamond FM’s sixth anniversary at Manicaland Agricultural Showgrounds.
Listeners’ tastes will be catered for as Baba Harare will entertain jiti music lovers, while Mark Ngwazi and Hosiah Chipanga will dish out the sungura menu.
Zim-dancehall outfits, SWAT Sound and Poptain, are expected to mesmerise revellers with their well-choreographed acts.
The gospel music fraternity will be heavily represented by fast-rising gospel diva, Dorcas Moyo.

Weekender Entertainment this week spoke to several artistes who are scheduled to perform at the event and they promised to put up explosive and historic performances.
“We can’t wait to be in Mutare. We have been waiting for an event like this one. We will not disappoint and the whole crew is excited to be part of the radio station’s sixth anniversary celebrations,” said Mark Ngwazi.

“We will definitely dish out new songs from our forthcoming album that is due for release at the end of June. We will also treat our fans to popular songs from our previous projects,” said Ngwazi, whose song ‘Taurai Madzoka’ came out tops on the 2020 Radio Zimbabwe Top 50 end of year show.
Baba Harare said revellers should expect a scintillating performance.
He is popular for songs such as ‘The Reason Why’, ‘Stumbo’, ‘Rita’, ‘Generator’, ‘Ndirikunakwa Amana’ and ‘Guzuzu’, among others.

“People were thrilled by our performances the last time we came there. This time there will be a remarkable improvement. Our choreography is better than ever. We will put up a memorable show and we will play a blend of old and new songs,” he said.
Poptain is also expected to keep revellers on their toes with songs such as ‘Tora Hombe’, ‘Something’ and ‘Mbabvu Yangu’.
Dorcas Moyo, who is riding high with a new album, ‘Bvudzi Rangu Ramera’, which is rocking the airwaves, is a crowd favourite who is expected to light up the festivities.
Organisers of the event said many more local artistes are expected to be part of the carnival which will run all day.
The radio station has in recent years hosted fun-filled and oversubscribed events as part of their anniversary celebrations.
Diamond FM’s marketing executive, Peter Madondo, popularly known as Uncle Pee, said the event is open for everyone.
“Diamond FM once again celebrates another milestone of six years of candid broadcasting. This year’s event is no exception from the previously action packed episodes.
“I would like to extend my humble invitation to the people of Manicaland and beyond to come in their numbers and celebrate with us. There will be a plethora of activities for everyone and this presents a perfect opportunity for families to come together and unwind during the Diamond FM 6th anniversary celebrations at the Manicaland Agricultural Showgrounds. Come in your numbers and let us see the day off together,” he said.
