Diasporans invited to DIC

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has invited all Zimbabweans in the diaspora and interested local stakeholders to the Diaspora Investment Conference (DIC) “Spotlight Zimbabwe”. 

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Frederick Shava, will host the inaugural DIC on the side lines of the 63rd edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo on April 26.

The DIC “Spotlight Zimbabwe” is a much-needed initiative that will provide a platform for the government, stakeholders, and Zimbabwean diaspora community to engage in constructive interactions. 

By bridging information gaps and improving participation in socio-economic development activities, the conference aims to promote Zimbabwe’s investment climate and emerging opportunities for the diaspora community. 

The event will foster networking opportunities among the diaspora, local industries, and communities to build strategic and sustainable trade and investment partnerships. 

The conference will also affirm the government’s commitment to promoting and protecting the interests of its citizens, both at home and abroad, encouraging them to fully participate in the country’s development agenda. Importantly, the conference will bring together key players from different sectors, including the private sector, government agencies, and diaspora associations, to facilitate meaningful discussions and collaborations towards achieving common goals.

“It will also assure the diaspora community of the Government’s commitment to promote and protect the interests of its citizens at home and abroad and, to encourage them to fully participate in the country’s development agenda,” said the Ministry in a statement. 

Participants will include the Zimbabwean Diaspora Associations, Members of the Zimbabwe Diaspora Community, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency and Zimbabwe Revenue Authority.

The Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries, Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce and ministries will also attend.
