BANTU Rovers defender and former How Mine captain Herbert Dick was back in court on Monday seeking a variation on $180 maintenance granted to one of his estranged girlfriends for the upkeep of their two minor children.
The former Warriors star, dragged Unita Nkomo to court for a variation on the maintenance fee of their children aged eight and five.
He told Bulawayo magistrate Victor Mpofu that the amount the court had granted Nkomo for the upkeep of their children was very high, arguing that he earned $490.
“Your worship, I earn only $490 yet I have six children that I’m looking after hence the $180 that I’m supposed to give the respondent for the upkeep of our two minor children is too much for me. I can only pay $90 every month for their upkeep,” said Dick.
Nkomo had earlier demanded $400 monthly from Dick arguing the veteran footballer was a successful businessman raking in $1,700 every month from his business interests.
In his ruling Mpofu slashed the amount to $120 and ordered Dick to start paying the money for the upkeep of his two children starting end of July.
Dick, who is not new to issues revolving around maintenance, was in March dragged to the same court by another woman.
Ntandoyenkosi Ncube pinned Dick down for maintenance demanding $241 from him for the upkeep of their children aged three and two months.
He was however, ordered to pay $124 for the upkeep of his two children until they reached the age of 18.
