DID Gogo Mamoyo, a well-known herbalist who operated at the Harare Central Police Charge Office market area in the CBD, predict her death?
She died suddenly on Friday.
Just before her death, Gogo Mamoyo, whose real name is Margaret Chibvakunye, had told H-Metro that she believed her life was in danger.
She said she was in the process of getting help.
“I hope to get help from others because my life is in danger.
“Talent (a vendor) came to me saying she was sent by the two women to collect my soil footprints and that they later mixed it with sadza.
“She said they went to the graveyard, prepared sadza with that soil, and ate it during the night at Mbare Cemetery.
“They said it would bring bad luck to my life.
“I am now living in fear.”
A few days later, Gogo Mamoyo was dead.
Her death has sent shockwaves, and sparked accusations, among vendors, who operate in the area.
Some of the vendors are even claiming she is a victim of witchcraft.
Talent is blaming two other vendors for Gogo Mamoyo’s death.
She made sensational claims that she was sent by the two vendors to collect Gogo Mamoyo’s soil footprints.
She confirmed that she told Gogo Mamoyo that she was the one who collected her soil footprints, which were later mixed with mealie-meal, by the two vendors.
These claims have sparked drama at the Charge Office Market.
When H-Metro arrived at the Market, Talent was trading insults with the two vendors.
Talent accused them of dragging her into their juju rituals.
“These two women asked me to collect Gogo Mamoyo’s soil footprints because I used to be hired at her house for laundry and other household chores.
“I collected it and took it to these two ladies.
“One night they led me to Mbare Cemetery, where they prepared sadza mixed with the soil and they said they were casting a bad omen on Gogo Mamoyo.
“I realised the evil act and decided to disclose this to Gogo Mamoyo.
“They said Gogo Mamoyo was getting more customers.”
One of the vendors denied the accusations, saying Talent was mentally unstable.
“We never sent Talent to collect Mamoyo’s foot prints as alleged.
Talent is of questionable sanity, so do not take her seriously.
“We have nothing against Mamoyo, and we are not witches,” she said.
A dark cloud hung over the Charge Office market as people from Chitungwiza, and other parts of the city, who knew Gogo Mamoyo, expressed their shock.
“We were shocked to hear about the death of Gogo Mamoyo.
