The body of the late national heroine, Cde Victoria Chitepo, who died in Harare last Friday, arrived at her rural home near Bonda Mission at around 4pm Monday accompanied by Politburo member, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, her son, Kule Zvenyika Chitepo and Zanu-PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Dr Samuel Undenge.
Several Government ministers, Members of National Assembly, service chiefs and heads of Government departments were there to welcome Cde Chitepo’s body which was abroad an Air Force of Zimbabwe helicopter.

Retired Anglican bishop, Bishop Sebastian Bakare led proceedings upon arrival of the body.
Cde Chitepo’s body will lay in state at her Bonda rural home tonight before being flown back to Harare Tuesday morning where it will lay in state again before being taken to Stodart Hall in Mbare enroute to the National Heroes’ Acre for burial on Wednesday.
Several dignitaries interviewed described Cde Chitepo as a humble cadre whose unwavering stance on party political issues will solely be missed.
