Dilemma for psl newboys

IT’S not looking good for all the four newly-promoted teams in the domestic Premiership.

It appears they have all failed to complete the refurbishment of their home grounds before the start of the Castle Lager Premiership next weekend. 

Hwange, Simba Bhora  Green Fuel and Sheasham appear to be facing the same predicament.

They all need their home support if they are to stand the test of playing in the top-flight league.

It’s only Chipangano who believe they have a very good chance of having their Colliery fortress approved for the new campaign.

Club secretary-general, Khumbulani Mbano, said their home ground was set to be inspected this weekend.

Green Fuel appear to have settled for Gibbo. 

Simba Bhora and Sheasham are still weighing their options.

Sheasham’ spokesperson, Elias Maginya said negotiations to temporarily use Mandava were ongoing.

He conceded that their fortress, Bata Sports Club, was just 15 percent away from completion. 

“I think we are not going to play our first two to three matches at home,” said Maginya.

“We are now left with one or two sections, which need final touch-ups and once we complete that, our ground will be ready.

“Initially, we wanted to use Ascot but it was deemed not fit for PSL action and we are now negotiating to use Mandava.”

Simba Bhora vice-chairman and spokesperson, Charles Nyatsine, revealed they were still considering their next move.

They have been renovating their fortress at Wadzanai in Shamva.

“It’s still work in progress but we are moving in faith hoping that we can get the approval of PSL,” said Nyatsine.

“We have brought in more people who can help in speeding up the developments.

“Our focus at the moment is playing our home matches at Wadzanai and we have also made inquiries to, at least, use Trojan, should we fail to put our house in order in time.”

Last season, Simba Bhora only lost once in their backyard.
