Matrix Disciplinary and Training Centre directors Tafadzwa Chidawa and Clara Manyapera appeared before Harare magistrate Rufaro Panavanhu today facing charges of running a voluntary organisation without license and impersonating child protection officers.

The two were released on US$300 bail each and advised to return to court on April 22 for routine remand.

The State alleges that during the period from December 2024 to date, the two formed Matrix Disciplinary and Training Camp to rehabilitate delinquent children.

The two directors started recruiting children into their camp despite Matrix Disciplinary and Training Centre not being registered in terms of the Private Voluntary Organisation Act.

On another count, the two posed as child protection officers offering services such as observation, corrections, and counselling in contravention of the Children Act.
