AFRO-POP singer Tamy Moyo says being nominated for the Best Female category at the AFRIMMA Awards 2026 is another milestone in her musical career.
The diva is in the running for the Best Female Artist- – Southern Africa award, a nomination that places her among some of the region’s top music stars.
The AFRIMMA Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 12 at the Annette Strauss Square at the AT&T Performing Arts Centre in Dallas, Texas.
Natty O has been nominated in the male category for the same awards.
He was nominated alongside Yo Maps (Zambia), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Kabza De Small (South Africa), Zeze Kingston (Malawi), Scott Maphuma (South Africa), William Last KRM (Botswana) and DJ Maphorisa (South Africa).
Tamy Moyo has been nominated alongside Hanna in the women category.
Over the years, the Tamy Moyo has managed to stay relevant in a highly competitive, male-dominated showbiz industry.
“I feel excited with the nomination as it resembles another milestone in my career,” said Tamy.
“It shows we are being appreciated and our efforts are being seen.
“I hope to bring the gong home.”
Tamy and Hanna will have to battle with Charma Gal from Botswana, Bombshell Grenade (Zambia), Makhadzi, Mawhoo, Uncle Waffles, Babalwa M, and Tyla from South Africa.
Like Tamy, Nutty O has also described the nomination as a major step in his career and a reward for years of dedication to his craft.
“It is a huge honour to be nominated for the AFRIMMA Best Male Artist in Southern Africa. This is a profound recognition of my years of hard work, consistency and pursuit of making good music,” he said.
He said the nomination has motivated him to continue working hard in the highly competitive music industry.
“Initiatives like these fuel my zeal to keep standing firm and strong in this competitive musical space.
“This nomination alone is a big regional recognition and a major boost to my drive of conquering the international market because from regional, I am now ready to take over the world,” said Nutty O.
The nomination adds to the singer’s growing list of achievements and reflects the increasing global recognition of Zimbabwean music.
