Divine lifting of God

GREETINGS, beloved in the name of Jesus Christ. “For not from the east nor from the west nor from the south come promotion and lifting up. But God is the Judge! He puts down one and lifts up another.” Psalm 75:6-7 AMPC

When we read the Scriptures, we discover that God is a progressive God; He desires to see us progressing from one level to another, from one dimension to another—whether spiritually, physically, financially and so on. God delights in taking His children from one level to a higher level in every aspect of their lives. He detests unproductivity and retrogression, that’s why He always wants us to flourish, make progress and move forward in life.

God delights in lifting and promoting men. The Bible tells us in Psalm 75:6-7 that promotion and lifting do not come from the north, south, east or west, but it comes from God. Divine lifting is God’s promotion; when God promotes you, no man can demote you. Divine lifting signifies a positive change in a person’s life. With divine lifting, an ordinary man is made great and will sit with honourable people. Divine lifting brings people from the dust to the throne.

When God decides to visit you, the atmosphere will change for you. The Bible recounts several individuals whom God lifted from the dust to positions of great influence. In the book of Esther 2:17-18, we read about Esther, who was lifted from being an orphan to becoming a queen — from a village girl to a palace where she sat with honourable people as queen. This shows that it does not matter what your background or upbringing is, God can still lift and promote you. Esther found divine favour because everyone who looked at her favoured her, including the king.

Divine lifting occurs when God raises you above all your enemies and mockers, it is when God promotes you to a higher level in your career. It is when God makes you the head and not the tail in life. This was the case with Joseph, in Genesis 37, who was lifted from being a slave to becoming a Prime Minister — from a prison to a palace.

In Genesis, we read about Joseph’s life. He endured many hardships — from being sold by his brothers, to slavery, false accusations of attempted rape, imprisonment and being forgotten. In prison, Joseph interpreted the dreams of some of Pharaoh’s attendants, but they forgot about him once they were free. However, at the right time, Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret except Joseph, he was finally remembered. God worked it out so that Joseph was made Prime Minister in a foreign land and even the king depended on him.

Every child of God is a candidate for divine lifting, but many believers still struggle in life because the devil is fighting against their blessings. There are ways to attract God’s divine lifting. In Micah 5:2, it says, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”

The Bible tells us that Bethlehem was the least among the tribes of Judah, yet from it came a ruler— Jesus Christ. Bethlehem means “house of bread,” which signifies the Word of God. What made Bethlehem attract lifting was that it carried the Word. If you are despised and looked down upon, God wants to lift you. Your being despised makes you a candidate for divine lifting. However, to attract this lifting, you must carry the Word and be a person of the Word.

1 Peter 5:6 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.”

Another way to attract God’s lifting is by humbling ourselves under His mighty hand. There are two key points here: (i) humility and (ii) positioning ourselves under God’s mighty hand. The Bible assures us that in due season, He will lift us up.

We must align ourselves with God’s timing and position ourselves correctly. This involves submitting to His will. There is a designated time in God’s calendar but it requires us to be properly positioned. As believers, we must resist the devil, until we resist him in prayer, he will continue to contend with the blessings of God upon our lives.

God has made provisions for your divine lifting, but you must fight the fight of faith. Pray your way into your inheritance. When we pray, we demonstrate our absolute dependence on God. We hand over our battles to Him so that He can bring us victory.

I invite you now to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is your Lord and Saviour and you shall be saved.  May God bless you all.
