adminDJ Clue, born Ernesto Shaw, was reportedly driving his black Range Rover with New Jersey plates when he was stopped at a checkpoint on Varick Street early on Wednesday morning.
Police then checked his driving record and determined that DJ Clue was driving with a licence that had been suspended eight times.
When authorities arrested him they searched him and found three pills wrapped in foil, and he was immediately booked.
Clue was expected to be arraigned in Manhattan court later on Wednesday and was also expected to release a statement to the public.
