DJs battle it out at City Sports Bar

Virtual DJ. Organisers of the event said this was first of its kind and will soon spread to the whole country  to scout for talent. Renowned club DJ Lazzy Munetsi, better known as DJ Ohmz, said the initiative was meant to promote Zimbabwean DJs by giving them the support they need.

“Virtual DJ clash is probably first of its kind in the country. As club DJs we managed to put together the little resources we had to sponsor this inaugural event.
“We are trying to encourage and promote little- known DJs sending a positive message that there is life in music not only for musicians who sing or compose, but the people who play the final product,” said Ohmz.

He urged all aspiring DJs and musicians to come and witness the initiative as it support local music and he also promised to unveil plenty of activities on the day.
On the judge’s panel are City Sports Bar in-house DJ, Sammy Benz and DJ Ohmz. The two celebrated DJs will be assisted by Beverly Sibanda’s manager, Harpers Mapimhidze, to give the top five finalists before deciding the winner who is going to walk away with the  R4 000 cash prize.

DJ Nash, one of the contenders, urged participants and other DJs who could have missed out this year’s inaugural event to embrace forthcoming battles as they will give them vast opportunities.

“I am happy to be part and parcel of this initiative. We are looking forward to continuity of the clash and DJs should not worry, more events are coming,” he said.
This year’s contestants include Holly’s Night Club DJ Nash, Brain, Blaxx, Stone, Starya, Archie, Nkalaz, Cables, Sounds, L.Drige, Diaspora, Cheeky B, Turntable, Hotta Flex, Sir Ricardo, Joe Mentro and Kay Cee Jones.
