NEWLY-PROMOTED Premiership outfit Dongo Sawmills coach Shadreck “Father” Mugurasave is happy with the team he has assembled and is confident they can hold their own in the top-flight league.
Mugurasave said his side is taking shape well and they can only improve as the season wears on as they embark on their maiden voyage.
“Our preparations have gone on very well and we are in the right direction; so far so good.
“As we begin this Premiership journey, which we trust will continue well beyond this season, our main goal will be preserving our place in the league and then build on from that foundation.
“Gaining promotion from Division One requires that we improve since competition in the Premiership is a different game altogether.
“We are aware of the challenges that await us and are presently working hard to arm ourselves with the requisite approaches, both on the tactical and administrative fronts, essential for our survival in the top-flight league,” said Mugurasave.”
Although Dongo Sawmills lost some of the troops who did duty for them during their fruitful campaign for promotion last season, most of whom returned to their parent club Buffaloes, the Rusape-based outfit is not losing any sleep.
As part of their preparations, Dongo Sawmills will host CAPS United at Vengere today and take on fellow Premiership novices Flame Lilly tomorrow before engaging Harare City next weekend in friendly matches.
Last weekend they overcame ZIFA Northern Region Division One outfit Mushowani Stars 1-0.
