Donkey rustler on the loose!

.
A-20-YEAR-Old Figtree man has been arrested in Tsholotsho for allegedly stealing 20 donkeys and selling them in Plumtree.

Kidmore Tshuma (20) of Oliver Tshumaas Homestead, Mbalule Line in Figtree was arrested for stock theft following a tip-ff to police by villagers last Wednesday in Mathe area, Tsholotsho.

Tshuma was apprehended while on yet another trip to allegedly steal more donkeys which he intended to go and sell again in Plumtree.

A villager, Sandawana Moyo said villagers were losing to stock thieves and this time they worked hard to catch the donkey rustler.

a?My neighbour had lost five donkeys at once and this sudden disappearance of donkeys in large numbers in the village prompted us to hunt for the thieves.

a?Tshuma was seen in our village and he had lied to us saying he was visiting his grandmother in the neighbouring village,a? he said.

Moyo said no one had bothered to find out who exactly his grandmother was.

a?On two occasions some villagers saw him drive donkeys to an unknown destination. We informed the neighbourhood watch committee and with their assistance we managed to catch him. We hope even those who lost their livestock earlier will recover it as we hope Tshuma will reveal his associates and lead us to where other donkeys are,a? he said.

All donkeys were recovered and were positively identified by the owners and Tshuma is due to appear in court soon.

Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Siphiwe Makonese said she had not received the report yet and so couldnat comment.
