Don’t allow anyone to write you off

Pauline Matanda

JOHN 11:20-21 reads: “When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him, while Mary remained sitting in the house.

Martha then said to Jesus, Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

There are things that “died” in your life because of the absence of Christ.

John 11:22-26 reads: “And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, He will grant it to you. Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother shall rise again’. Martha replied, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, although he may die, yet he shall live; And whoever continues to live and believes in Me shall never die at all. Do you believe this?’”

This is a million-dollar question.

Do you believe this?

Faith moves mountains.

Take note of what the Lord Jesus said to Martha: “I am the Resurrection and the Life.”

What He said to Martha, He also said to you by extension. See Him as your Resurrection and your Life.

You are in union with the one who is the Resurrection and the Life.

Do not allow anyone to write you off. You carry an inherent ability to bounce back.

Take note of verse 23, where Jesus said to her, “Your brother shall rise again.”

It was not Peter or any of the disciples who said these words; it was Jesus or God Himself.

His promises are yes and amen. He is not a man, who can lie or change his mind.

Your “dead brother”, that seemingly impossible situation, which is making you cry day and night, and that dream you want to give up on “will live again”.

As the Psalmist says, “l will not die but live”, you, too, will live to proclaim the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Be sure of this, Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life; He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. What He said to Mary and Martha, He is also saying it to you, too.
