Don’t depend on anyone’s approval

AT school, we meet different people. The same applies in our communities, there are different people that we meet. It is important to know yourself, your strengths and things that keep you motivated and strong. We all see life differently and our gifts and passions are also different.

At school, if you are interested in sport, do it without any doubt. Discover your gift and go for it. Don’t be afraid of what other students will say. It’s you not then, don’t wait for their approval.

In class, if you feel you know the answer, raise your hand and participate. Don’t be shy and fear what other students will say after you give your answer.

The same applies to those who want to give a speech at an assembly. If you feel you can present something don’t be afraid, go for it. Never mind what other students will say after you finish presenting your speech. Many students seek approval from other students and end up not expressing themselves.

If you are a prefect or class monitor, don’t wait for approval from other students. Do your duty diligently without fear or favour. Don’t worry about what other students will say about you. Those who misbehave should be reported to the teachers.

The same with your friends. If you don’t want to drink beer or smoke, it’s you. Don’t do these things to please your friends. The same as having a boyfriend/girlfriend or sex. If you feel it’s not right, that’s good, maintain that stance and remain bold. You know what is good for you. Don’t seek approval from your friends. Don’t worry if they watch pornography and you don’t want. Remain glued to your good principles.

Several students copy bad habits from their friends so that they remain relevant or remain loved by their friends. This is bad. Know what is good for you and don’t follow the crowd. People are always people, whether you do good or bad they will always something to say. Not everyone around you loves you. Believe in yourself and do what you are good at. Our callings are different, do your part and God will always be with you.

You are the best version of yourself.
