the year 2011.
At the same time, most Christians are now ticking on the achievements made on the resolutions made at the beginning of the year. To others, hope is lost as they have nothing tangible to show.
It seems as if their prayers have not been answered and goals are slowly becoming just but mere dreams.
Tatenda Nhema, an evangelist and life coach said, “This is a point and time when people give up on their dreams because they feel that the dawn of opportunity has slipped into the twilight of impossibility. They feel that time has given them wrinkles and reluctance, slower steps and a dimmer vision. Their tenacity to tackle any task is gone.”
Evangelist Nhema’s remarks explain the situation in the lives of many Christians today.
However, in my view I will say that never count yourselves out, for the 42 days left are plenty of time as far as God is concerned: “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8). Go back and declare His word for to Him a thousand years is like a day gone by.
Whatever you are believing God for will come to pass. In fact, it will hurry itself before year end for the Bible says in Isaiah 55:11, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
What this means is that this spoken word has to accomplish something in your life this very season.
You need to improve your prayer life and begin to thank God for your miracle and to call things that are not as though they are.
Normally, I love to call Him the God of the eleventh hour as His power is demonstrated in moments like these, when we have surrendered and have no other plan forward except to look at the throne of grace.
He is the one who made a way when there seemed to be no way for the Israelites who were running away from Pharaoh. (Exodus 14)
Remember also that Abraham and Sarah were very old and had no children. The cemetery may have been a closer reality than maternity. But he made it possible, and Isaac, the child of promise was born.
Although time might seem to have gone, God will not let not your hope be destroyed and never allow your heart to be crushed because whatever you have believed God for this year is still very possible, because He is the God of the eleventh hour, a miracle working God.
This is the time to begin to gear up in prayer and stop asking God for things, but thank Him for whatever we are praying for. Begin to call what is not as though it is.
At this point stop reasoning but, believe God for a miracle because reasoning has to do with what is seen which disturbs a miracle to happen in your life.
For, a miracle is an extraordinary event that contradicts the laws of nature, so begin to brace yourself for one.
Stop listening to negative reports that come from people around you who have no faith in your God.
God gives us reliable sources of strength in a storm. No matter how ominous the circumstances, hope ensures us that the sky will eventually clear, the sun will ultimately smile on us again and the damage will be repaired before the end of this year.
Never count yourself out. It’s not over until it’s over.

Forthcoming events
This week we have three forthcoming events. As I reflected on this, I wondered why. Are churches busy with Christmas and New Year preparations?
But here is a reminder. Divine Appointments’ main goal is to tell readers what is going in the body of Christ.
In short, it is a space whose aim is to ensure that the body of Christ comes together to fellowship in unison with the Holy Spirit, irrespective of denomination.
We also hope that as believers get to know about events in other churches, they partner with them in prayer, fasting, etc so that more souls come to know the Lord.
Readers that follow this column have noted that some events appear more than once.
Why is that? To enable believers to intercede for those events on time so that there are more breakthroughs at the end. Psalm 133 is very crucial in the realisation of this goal for, it speaks into what a united body of Christ can benefit from unity:
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! … for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
The abundant harvest for a united body is in: “for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
The challenge NOW is that you also can tell us what events will be taking place in your church from time to time.
It’s simple. Just use the format in the three events we feature this week. Send them via e-mail; call us and/or bring the information. We sincerely thank the churches (leaders and congregants) who have made this column what it is. But it can grow from glory to glory with your interaction and/or participation.
