Don’t let down President, ZPS urged

of ranks to ZPS’ commissioned officers who were promoted recently.
He urged the commissioned officers to maintain loyalty to the Government.

“We are quite privileged to have a visionary leader in His Excellency, the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Cde RG Mugabe who has made it possible for you to be where you are today,” said Rtd Maj-Gen Zimondi.

“I have no doubt that you will never want to let such a leader down, especially this 2013, which is a special year in the history of this country.”
A total of 613 of both non-commissioned and commissioned prison officers were promoted to various ranks since January this year.

Rtd Maj-Gen Zimondi said out of the 189 commissioned officers who were promoted in April, 116 senior prison officers were promoted to the rank of principal prison officer, 47 PPOs to the rank of chief prison officer and 16 CPOs to the rank of superintendent.

A total of seven superintendents rose to the rank of chief superintendent, while three chief superintendents were promoted to the rank of assistant commissioner.

Rtd Maj-Gen Zimondi welcomed five commissioned officers who had gone for an 18-month United Nations peacekeeping mission in Sudan.
He hailed them for lifting the country’s flag high.
