DONaT mourn my wife!
Knowledge Kiwa told relatives not to mourn at his wife Daires Sibandaas funeral.
a?My wife didnat die but mental torture that was exerted on her caused her death and her spirit has to fight,a? said the distraught Kiwa.
Sibanda committed suicide sometime between 10 and 15 September last month. Her body was found in a decomposing state by Kiwa after he had initially received a message from her that in the event that she did not return home from a Bulawayo visit, he should look for her corpse at the Machalaga mountains.
Sibanda had been waiting for sentencing in a case where she was alleged to have inserted her hand in her daughter-in-lawas privates.A The victim had recently given birth and this action ruptured her stitches.
Relatives and villagers that spoke to B-Metro said not a single tear was allowed to be shed as per custom and her body was not taken to her homestead.
Instead the family took the coffin to a police base where it is believed the investigating officer of the deceasedas case is based.
a?They did so because the police officer in question came more than three times and took her to the station and told her she would be jailed,a? said a community member.
Village head Edson KiwaA advised community members to seek counsel instead of taking irrational decisions.
Efforts to get a comment from Midlands police spokesperson Joel Goko were fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered. .
