PREPARATIONS for quarter-finals of the Doves Harare Province Division Two and Three matches have gathered momentum with the organisers saying everything was now in place.
The matches are set for Danny Bismark this coming weekend.
The quarter-finals will see Budiriro taking on University and Borrowdale Hatcliffe dating Botafago on Saturday.
Kuwadzana will face Ghetto Pirates, while Seed Co play Cargo Carriers on Sunday.
Zifa Harare Province vice-chairman Robert Tembo said all was now set for quarter-finals.
“We are now at an advanced stage and we are happy with the progress made so far and we are confident that the quarter-finals will be very competitive, considering the quality of the teams that have been eliminated.
“The sponsors Doves have pledged to carter for all the costs, which include administrative costs, referees and all the refreshments.
“We are very grateful to Doves who have committed themselves to sponsoring the whole tournament and supporting the development of football.”
The Zifa Harare Metropolitan province made history by becoming the first league, outside the Premiership and Division One, to secure a fully-funded knock-out tournament.
Todd Goni, the board member in charge of marketing and junior development, said they want to use the tourney to expose talent that lies in the lower divisions.
“We also promote junior policy in our leagues, encouraging teams to use young players because we believe that our leagues are developmental,” said Tembo.
“Our sponsors are also helping with that thrust as they also believe in the development of junior footballers.
“Our partnership has also enabled our members to have peace of mind because, before this partnership, they used to run into all sorts of problems when death struck.” Goni said.
