Dr Ndondo burial today

ZIMBABWE’s former ambassador to Angola, Ethiopia and Djibouti and Chief of Mbembesi in Umguza District, Dr Neville Mkatshana Ndondo Hadebe who died on Monday morning will be buried at his rural home today.
His family said in a statement that Dr Ndondo’s body left Bulawayo late yesterday afternoon for burial in Mbembesi.  Dr Ndondo succumbed to renal failure at 75 after a week’s admission at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.

He served as the country’s High Commissioner to India, Nepal and Bangladesh.
The ministries of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing and Foreign Affairs have mourned his death saying the entire country had lost a great man.

“He was a man who truly epitomised the face of good and sound local governance and fair traditional leadership as we know it, championing development in his area, always fair in his judgment, assisting the needy and striving for unity of purpose among his people,” said the Ministry of Local Government in a statement yesterday.

Dr Ndondo was born on February 2, 1939 to Cronje and Elsie Ndondo in Inyathi area in the then Rhodesia.
He did his primary education at Gutu Mission before proceeding to Matopo High School.

Dr Ndondo then enrolled for his first degree at Prague School of Economics in Czechoslovakia where he also attained a Master of Science Degree in Economics in 1968.
