As one of the regulations, promoters of any show have to be cleared first by the arts council before they can organise a gig but unfortunately for Tryson he is only a musician and is not registered as a promoter with NACZ.
Nyasha Mugari, who is Tryson’s manager, said there were sponsors and promoters who were organising the gig.
“It’s true that an official from NACZ called Tryson pertaining to the gig. They wanted to know who was planning the gig. The gig is going ahead as scheduled.
“We told them that Tryson was just a facilitator, but there is a promoter behind and she is registered with the arts council,” he said.
Asked about the promoters who were organising the show, Mugari could not cite any names.
“She wants to remain faceless, it’s her right. The show will definitely go ahead,” he said.
Nicholas Moyo, the NACZ deputy director, said he was not aware of the upcoming gig.
“I don’t know about the gig. But since you have called me I will outline the procedures for an artiste to be eligible to promote music.
“Artistes should have a commercial entity to promote music. Oliver Mtukudzi has Tuku Music, Alick Macheso has Cheso Power and Charles Charamba has Charamba Music, that is why these musicians manage to stage their own shows,” he said.

If the gig does go ahead as planned, fans will be in for a treat as the Chimbetus will perform as one group.
Leading the dendera family will be Allan, Suluman, Douglas as well as Tryson. Alick Macheso and Peter Moyo, who are some of the best sungura artistes in the country, will add colour to the event.
“All the artistes have signed their contracts including Macheso. In fact, we have changed the dates because Macheso will be performing in the UK on March 29.
“The family failed to perform together at Simon Chimbetu’s commemorations because there was communication breakdown. This time, Tryson formally informed his elder brother (Sulu) about the event, and we are happy that Sulu has committed himself,” said Mugari.
