FOUNDER and chairman of Prevail International Group Dr Paul Tungwarara is in Bulawayo today to assess progress on rehabilitation works at Mpilo Central Hospital.
The hospital, which has a bed capacity of more than 1 000, has been undergoing extensive refurbishment since last year under the Presidential Hospital Renovation Programme, which is being carried out by Prevail International Group.
The refurbished hospital block is set to be handed back to the authorities once renovations are completed.
Special Adviser to the President on Monitoring Implementation of Government Programmes and Projects, Dr Joram Gumbo, is also part of the team touring the projects at the hospital.
Works underway include modernising the block through the installation of a new kitchen, toilets, ward cubicles and individualised air-conditioning systems, as well as tiling, painting and the provision of new hospital furniture.
President Mnangagwa expanded Dr Tungwarara’s role from being primarily an adviser focused on Dubai to include all regions, with his portfolio also covering the empowerment front.
