MUSICIAN Desmond “Stunner” Chideme says drama always follows him.
In an interview with H-Metro, the rapper said he has been trying to figure out which music genre to follow.
“About my social life, l don’t go around creating or hunting for drama but it seems to follow me. Whenever I try to do something good, someone just comes and messes everything up. It’s beyond my control, just like everyone else, stuff happens in life, it’s just loud because I am a public figure. It’s normal.”
When asked about his marital status, the musician said:
“I am still very single, and I’m not with anyone. People have so many assumptions. Everyone has a moment or phase where they try and figure out what to do. I am building and life is happening.”
He said he was also evolving in his music.
“In everything, there is a cycle, if you look at all the other artists l started with, the likes of EXQ, I have moved around with him.
He started with rap then hard rap and now Afro-fusion, he found himself, so I have been releasing songs and trying to find my place.
“lmagine at my age, if l keep singing the stuff that I used to sing, singing about girls, hee bhebhi ndokuda ndakasangana newe kuma grocer, it does not connect with my age right now. Expect more music and mature music. Stunner is here and he is back, more music and videos are coming.”
He also spoke about his new song ‘Mufaro Kwamuri’ featuring Tally B, Shonaboi and K Fliss.
“Releasing this song. l realised people like working with social commentary, I can work with the comment.
Stunner said, he is not rich but he is okay.
“I am okay, handisi mhene hangu but l am okay and living a comfortable life, l keep trying to find myself.” (H-Metro)
