A SUSPECTED drug addict allegedly murdered his mother in cold blood after an altercation.
Michael Mandigo, 31, of Mt Hampden, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova who advised him to approach the High Court for bail considerations.
The court heard that on Saturday, Mandigo was seen by the informant holding a bloody machete, coming out of a house where his mother was screaming for help.
During investigations, Mandigo confessed to murdering his mother. He said he struck her numerous times with a hoe and a machete.
He was held by his neighbours who handed him over to the police. Rufaro Chonzi prosecuted.
