Drug addict torments wife

A SUSPECTED drug addict has been accused of tormenting his wife and children each time he gets drunk.

Stephen Magondo is said to have fled his place of residence after his wife, Loveness Mazamana, filed a police report. He is also accused of sneaking into their matrimonial home, in the dead of the night, to assault his wife and children.

Loveness has since approached the Harare Civil Court, seeking a protection order, against Steven.

“He assaults me each time he gets drunk and l have so many scars from his beatings. When l realised that he might kill me, I had to report him to the police and he ran away from our matrimonial home that very night.

“He took all his belongings and only a small water pump was left at home.

“My prayer is for him to be barred from accessing our matrimonial home,” said Loveness.

She added: We now live in fear of him because he comes home around midnight and causes havoc.”

Steven was in default to defend himself.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the protection order in Loveness’ favour. Stephen was ordered to maintain peace and he has been barred from approaching the house where his family stays.
