A DARING notorious drug dealer used a machete to threaten cops who wanted to arrest him for dealing in dangerous drugs in Norton.
They only subdued him after firing warning shots.
Goddard Baloyi was hauled to court yesterday after he was allegedly found in possession of 10 grammes of crystal meth worth $1 million.
Allegations are that on Tuesday, at around 6am, officers from the CID Drugs and Narcotics received a tip-off that Baloyi was dealing in drugs at his home in Katanga.
The police went and found him at home.
He suddenly became violent when they introduced themselves and closed his front door despite repeated orders that he opens it.
The cops then broke the front door to gain entry, and he locked himself in the bedroom.
Baloyi allegedly charged towards the officers, armed with a machete, and they fired a warning shot before subduing him.
A body search was conducted and two sachets of crystal meth were found in his trousers’ pocket.
Further searches in his bedroom led to the seizure of eight sachets of crystal meth from a plate on the dressing table.
Two other Norton drug dealers, Valentine Neshamba and Claxton Jimu, also appeared in the same court for illegal possession of drugs worth $900 000 and $140 000 respectively.
The three return to court today for bail considerations.
