A BULAWAYO man has accused his estranged lover of being an alcoholic and an irresponsible mother who spends all her money frequenting bars.Robert Nyazika made the claims after he was taken to the maintenance court by Soneni Dube who was demanding $300 for the upkeep of their one year old son.
Nyazika told magistrate Takunda Mtetwa that Dube inflated her maintenance claim in order to satisfy her love for beer.
“I have three other minor children but they survive on less than $200 a month. She is always drunk and I have seen her in bars on numerous occasions. I bought our child clothes last month and she complained that they were too small. She later sold them to buy beer,” said Nyazika.
Dube, who stood speechless in embarrassment, was castigated by magistrate Mtetwa for being an irresponsible mother.
“You came here and told me that your child is sickly hence you incur a lot of medical expenses. You also said your child survives on Nan milk but how do I know that you don’t give alcohol to your child. I strongly suggest that you quit drinking,” blasted Mtetwa.
Mtetwa ordered Nyazika to pay $80 as maintenance.
