DRY BIRDS AT LUVEVE! Gamecocks and Ngezi fire blanks in dull first half

FANS at Luveve Stadium were left yawning as Chicken Inn and Ngezi Platinum Stars played out a goalless and uninspired first half in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash.
The much-anticipated showdown fizzled into a midfield tussle with barely a spark of brilliance. Only one shot on target was recorded in the entire 45 minutes, leaving supporters frustrated.

Ngezi Platinum tried to ruffle feathers early with two corners in the opening five minutes. McDonald Eddisone rose well during the second attempt, but his header sailed over the bar.
Then came a moment of selfish play from Leslie Kashitigu, who ignored an unmarked Obriel Chirinda and blazed over from a distance.

Chicken Inn’s first real sniff at goal came in the 10th minute when George Majika let fly from the edge of the box, but his shot curled wide of the upright.
The Gamecocks were dealt an early blow when midfield workhorse Joseph Tulani had to be stretchered off with an ankle injury. Brendon Rendo came on in his place and nearly made an impact.

The game’s only shot on target arrived in the 36th minute when Malvin Gaki turned on the magic, ghosting past Dominic Jaricha before firing a curling shot that forced Donovan Bernard into a diving save.
Rendo then tried to inject some life into the half, dancing past defenders only for Brighton Makopa to waste his cross with a weak header.

With both sides desperate for points, fans are hoping the second half delivers the fireworks the first half failed to ignite.
