Dube mocks DeMbare

HWANGE coach Nation Dube says defending champions Dynamos should learn to accept defeat with grace after his side swept back to the top of the table with a narrow win over the Harare giants at the Colliery on Sunday.
DeMbare succumbed to a 35th minute spot kick converted by South Africa-bound defender Eric Chipeta after referee Mandlenkosi Sibanda ruled that Ocean Mushure had handled inside the box.

This angered the visitors who strongly protested, leading to a lengthy stoppage. The Dynamos players and officials argued that Mushure did not handle inside the box, but the ball hit his face as he was bleeding afterwards.

Team manager Richard Chihoro reiterated coach Callisto Pasuwa’s remarks in the post-match interview that the penalty should not have been given.
Matches between Hwange and DeMbare are now always full of incidents.

However, Dube yesterday said DeMbare had no case.
“If they had come for football they should have played for a win and not concentrate on the handling of the match. Dynamos should just accept defeat and move on,” said Dube.

“It was clear for everyone to see that their player handled inside the penalty box and what did you expect the referee to do?
“That was a clear penalty and any good referee could have given it. Without taking anything away from Dynamos they had a very good game in the second half.
“This was a game of two halves. We dominated the first period and then in the second they were really coming at us.

“But we defended strongly. The Colliery is our fortress and we have to stamp authority when playing at home.”
Hwange remained unbeaten at the Colliery in their six home games.

Dynamos dropped two places down the ladder to fifth with 19 points ahead of their blockbuster showdown against Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Pasuwa and his men would need to revisit some of their shortcomings during the week as they prepare for a big game against Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday.

Bosso are still unbeaten after 11 games and they are coming from a 1-1 draw at Triangle.
