A cheating Nyanga man was recently dumped by his married lover after he failed to surrender half of his salary to her as he had promised.
In response to the abrupt end of the illicit affair, Peter Sakurungo exposed his fling with Aseki Chitambo to her husband, Nathan Dokotera.
This saw Dokotera suing Sakurungo, arguing that Sakurungo abused his office to lure his wife into bed.
The matter was recently heard at Acting Chief Saunyama’s court where Dokotera was demanding five cattle as compensation from Sakurungo.
However, Sakurungo did not attend the hearing.
Chitambo told the court that she dated Sakurungo for three months until he failed to own up to his promises of giving her half of his salary.
She said she cheated because her polygamous husband was not giving her attention.
“My husband has four wives and I am the first wife. He has no time for me, which is why I ended up having this affair. He claims to have a roaster for us as his wives, but he usually comes to my bedroom around 2am and never gets intimate with me.
“I found someone who saw my worth and was willing to cater for my children’s financial needs. However, I later realised that Sakurungo could only deliver in bed, not from his pocket.
“I dated Sakurungo because I wanted him to help me financially. I usually get little to no financial help from my husband.
“The affair started in June and in August, I asked Sakurungo to give me half of his salary and he agreed. However, on his pay day, he started giving me excuses, and it was proof that he did not want to meet part of his bargain. I opted out of the affair,” she said.
Chitambo said there was no reason to continue dating a stingy person.
“After I ended our relationship, he failed to accept it. On one occasion, he was heavily intoxicated and blurted out that we were having an affair. Everyone heard that, including the father of my three children.
“I confronted Sakurungo, asking him why he was ruining my reputation. He told me that he would continue doing so until we rekindled our relationship, claiming that he still loves me,” she said.
Dokotera said he only got to know of his wife’s affair after a drunk Sakurungo approached him and blurted everything out.
“He was going around telling everyone that he was cheating with my wife. I felt so demeaned because he tarnished our reputation as a married couple,” he said.
Dokotera claimed that he gives his four wives equal attention.
“I have a duty roster for sleeping with my wives, and I perform as expected. However, if she feels that I am not giving her enough time, I will make sure that I improve. However, this man must pay for sleeping with my wife,” he said.
Acting Chief Saurombe adjourned the matter to October 13 to allow Sakurungo to be brought to court.
