A HARARE duo spent the night in prison after they allegedly posed as security officers who had information on hackers, who wanted to hack a top bank.

The duo, Blessward Zvikaramba and Mathias Mrezewa, connived and approached the POSB Chief Information officer Loice Ngulube.

They claimed they had information on a syndicate that wanted to hack into the POSB system and steal foreign currency.

Ngulube then called Masimba Charewa, the risk manager, and they had a meeting with him.

Charewa took Zvikaramba’s details and promised to look into the issue.

On Tuesday, Zvikaramba’s details were verified with the Human Resources department and were found to be fake.

The following day, he returned to the POSB office and Mrezewa was introduced as Zvikaramba’s supervisor.

The two started demanding money to release the information on who wanted to hack the account.

Ngulube called the police and the two were arrested on the scene.
