IF DYNAMOS want people to believe that they can beat the odds by surviving relegation, they have to win against Kwekwe United at Ascot on Sunday.
It is as simple as that.
Dynamos still have matches against Scottland, CAPS United, Ngezi Platinum Stars, Highlanders and FC Platinum in the remaining 10 matchdays but the real test is at Ascot this weekend.
Anyway, this is a clash of teams that deserves to be relegated at least according to what they have displayed in their last 24 games.
The dynamics of this season’s relegation battle are such that Dynamos might need to win as many as seven of the remaining 10 matches.
Dynamos are expected to win at least SEVEN of their last 10 assignments while praying for nothing but the worst for other teams in the red zone.
They are sitting second from last and SEVEN points away from the safety line.
Dynamos will still be sitting on this position even if they win their next two games against Kwekwe United and Greenfuel.
The interesting part is that this is the same tally they have recorded in their last 24 games, and it is difficult to imagine their firing line improving overnight.
Two of those seven goals came from the spot which means they have scored only five times in open play.
The battle to avoid the chop looks set to go down to the final day and DeMbare are sharing this burden with nine teams.
ZPC Kariba, Highlanders, CAPS United, Bikita Minerals, Green Fuel, Chicken Inn, Manica Diamonds, Triangle, Green Fuel and Yadah are realistically in danger of losing their PSL slot for next season.
It was a dull goalless draw when Kwekwe visited Dynamos at Rufaro in the reverse fixture.
Dynamos midfielder, Temptation Chiwunga who scored from the spot when they floored MWOS 1-0 believes DeMbare have a good chance of surviving the drop.
“We haven’t been at our best due to many reasons but where we are at the moment requires everyone to be at his best.
“We are down but not out because everyone knows what we have to do to secure our place in the PSL next season.
“Our coaches have been doing the best they can in working with our mental aspect of the game and I also want to urge our fans to keep up the support because that is all we need in our last fixtures,” said Chiwunga.
