DYNAMOS Football Club coach, Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe, has been sucked into a car theft storm.
Mangombe, who is a policeman by profession, is one of the rising young coaches in the country. Mangombe has enjoyed a rapid rise in his coaching career which has seen him getting an attachment as part of the Warriors technical team. The case was reported at Borrowdale Police Station under RRB 6009609.
Moses Mkwesha filed the police report and he claims he gave his Madza 323 to Mangombe in 2015 in a deal in which the coach was supposed to sell the vehicle on his behalf. Mkwesha claims he never saw the car or the money after he handed Mangombe the vehicle.
Mkwesha said the two were friends back then but their friendship was strained by the car deal. He said his efforts to recover either his car, or the money in the event it was sold, have been in vain.
“I decided to take a legal action against Kaka because he has become rude and big headed, maybe, because he is now coaching a big team,” said Mkwesha.
“He blocked my number and whenever I visit him at his house, he tells his wife and children to say that he is not in. This has been going on since 2015 and I cannot stomach his tricks any more. I want my money or my car.”
Contacted for comment, Mangombe told H-Metro that Mkwesha was just trying to tarnish his reputation, hoping to bring him down.
“His intention is to tarnish my name and bring me down and nothing else. Kumba kwangu anokuziva uye zvatakataurirana anozviziva. He is supposed to meet me instead of blackmailing me,” said Kaka.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, could not be reached for comment by the time of going to print.
