AN obscure US$10 000 gold deal and thousands in management allowances siphoned from the Dynamos coffers and other questionable financial transactions have exploded into a huge scandal at the Glamour Boys.
The unfolding scandal has resulted in the axing of the club’s treasurer, Moses Chikwaviro, as well as Moses Madzinga, who was in charge of development, after a restructuring of the executive committee.
Sources told H-Metro that this was just a tip of the iceberg and the club has called for a forensic audit on all financial transactions from 2017 to the end of last year.
The US$10 000, which was deposited in an NBS account for the gold buying deal, was never recovered and kept largely as a secret until matters exploded this week.
It’s a deal which was struck by two members of the executive and the funds didn’t yield the profits they had targeted and the money ended up as a loss for the club,” said the source.
It has caused a lot of friction and one of the people axed yesterday was involved in the deal, while the other one had already been removed from the club’s executive.
“We are seeing the beginning of a process which will see many of these shady deals being brought into the open and this will cast some light on the rot and even hammer the reputations of some men involved in these messy affairs.
“Some of it was so petty that an executive committee member even gave a false impression that he had covered transport allowances for some executive committee members for the trip to Gweru where the club had a friendly match, when those people financed their trip.
“Where the money said to have been paid for fuel of the executive members went, nobody knows, but this gives you a picture of the mess,” said the source.
Moses Maunganidze retained his post as club’s chairman after the restructuring of the club’s executive committee and he will be deputised by Vincent Chawonza.
Beadle Gwasira is the new Dynamos treasurer, with Webster Marechera taking over as secretary general, and Clemence Chimbare the committee member responsible for development.
“The former treasurer, Chikwariro, committee member for development, Francis Madzinga, have been replaced by Gwasira and Chimbare respectively,” reads Dynamos’ press release.
“The position of committee member for communication and marketing previously held by Tinashe Farawo will now be a function of the secretariat and an appointment to that effect will be confirmed soon.

Tinashe Farawo
“The board would like to thank Chikwariro, Madzinga and Farawo for the services they rendered to the club to date.
‘‘The club would like to wish the new look executive committee success in 2023.”
