‘Dynamos should expect more misery’

FORMER Dynamos’ Ghanaian defender Sylvester Appiah has warned his ex-employers to expect the worst if they do not pay him the money he claims the club owes him.

Appiah was playing for the Glamour Boys for the past two seasons before he left upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last year.

However, he could have left Harare a disgruntled lot after Dynamos refused to pay him US$200 which was part of each player’s share for finishing third in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League last term.

Dynamos have refused to pay him as they claim the defender destroyed some club furniture at a Greendale house where he was staying with three other players.

Each player has his furniture and the former ZPC Kariba man is accused of breaking down a bed and running down a refrigerator.

And Appiah has been threatening Dynamos chairman Moses Maunganidze warning the club will ensure bad luck in the league until they settle the US$200 that is due him.

He even told The Herald last month that Dynamos would look for him after match day five.

The Glamour Boys lost their week five encounter 3-2 against Bulawayo Chiefs before they recovered with a 2-0 derby victory over CAPS United on April 30.

But that was the last time they have won a game as they have picked a paltry four points in their last five games after drawing four times and losing once.

Despite putting on a decent first half performance in their last match against Ngezi Platinum at Baobab on Sunday, Dynamos were outplayed by an organised host team in the second half in a 2-1 defeat.

And unlike in the past months, Appiah has not contacted Maunganidze over his issue.

But he told The Herald that Dynamos will endure more hardships and they will look for him.

He said when they look for him, he will demand US$2000 instead of the US$200 that they owe him.

“They (Dynamos) will endure worse things than this (going for five matches without a win).

“Certainly I know that at the end of the first half of the season or with a few games before the half-way mark, they will meet a lot of disappointing results.

“Nobody (from Dynamos) has talked to me and I haven’t talked to anybody for that team as well.

“Actually I will not talk to anybody but when the worst comes they will come with my money and I will not take it.

“I will not take that money. I will make sure that they give me US$200 multiplied by 10. I will take US$200 and 10-fold. They will try everything. Let them change the coach, let them try everything but still they won’t get the results. They will struggle”.

Dynamos have remained adamant they will not pay Appiah the US$200 which they acknowledge he didn’t receive when everyone else at the team got the money after the Glamour Boys finished third last term.

DeMbare’s struggles especially in front of goal have been glaring this season.

Before Donald Mudadi’s goal in their 2-1 loss at Baobab on Sunday, Herbert Maruwa’s team had gone for four straight matches without scoring.

All those matches (against Cranborne Bullets, Triangle, Manica Diamonds and Herentals) ended goalless and at every turn the Dynamos authorities would hide behind time-wasting antics by opponents.
