CHURCH members from various denominations are today expected to meet at the Dzivarasekwa turn-off along Harare-Bulawayo highway where seven people perished.
The toll has since risen to eight.
The District chairperson of Christian Community Police Network (CCPN), Apostle Benny Chabuka said the prayer meeting with a view to cleanse the accident black spot is open for all religions.
“We are meeting tomorrow (today) morning for prayers at the accident scene,” said Apostle Chabuka.
“All church religions, friends and relatives are free to come.
“It is a divine appointment, spiritual intervention where church leaders will pronounce a Priestly blessing to cleanse the spot, comfort bereaved families and declaration of peace and safety among travelers on roads.
“We are appealing to all drivers and conductors around Dzivarasekwa and Kuwadzana to come.
“We will observe a minute of silence, give respect to the giver of life, God, and find time to fellowship.
“Death is the greatest equalizer, let the whole community come and join hands in seeking God’s face to heal our wounds, wipe our tears and cleanse our roads,” said Apostle Chabuka.
Apostle Chabuka said traffic police officers are also expected to attend the prayer meeting.
“As CCPN, we have joined hands with police in fighting crime, as such they will be among us at the scene.
“Our police officers need deliverance, protection and counseling as well.
“When they fight crime, the church play a role of dealing with sin and preaching peace to communities,” said Apostle Chabuka.
