finals.
The tournament has been dubbed Young People We Care HIV Prevention Sporting League (YPWC)

The event will see people participating in various sporting disciplines like soccer, volleyball, chess and netball. The tournament is expected to draw participants from Mabvuku Tafara, Highfield, Kuwadzana Extension, Glen Norah, Ruwa and Dzivarasekwa.
ACT assistant youth programmes officer, Oswald Chishanga, said they were bracing for a good event.

“Our aim is to empower the youth through sport. As this is our first year, we have taken into consideration a few communities and just ten teams. The objective of the tournament extends to identifying and nurturing talent while assisting winning teams or clubs in coming up with income generating activities that will empower them economically.

“We also capacitate the youths with business management skills that will enable them to run viable projects.
“The games were played at six levels namely intra-club games, inter-clubs, semi-finals and finals,” said Chishanga.

Mabvuku has made it to the finals of all the four disciplines and Tafara are also having a big say.
