Speaking at the launch, Eagle Insurance managing director Mr Musa Bako said the introduction of the hospital cash plan was in response to the prevailing market expectations and the present economic conditions. He said that the company was responding to the needs of the community as it was sensitive to their needs.
The business development manager for e-Top Up, Mr Thomas Mutasa, paid tribute to Eagle Insurance — a subsidiary of FBC Holdings — for engaging them as a technology partner for the new product.
“May I thank you and your team for the confidence you have placed in us as a technology partner when most financial institutions and businesses in general are rushing to India, Europe and South Africa to source the most basic of solutions. Zimbabwean industry in general should support the local ICT sector.
“Our universities and colleges are not just producing farmers, doctors and accountants. Without your support our ICT sector will be stillborn. Lack of opportunity in the ICT sector has resulted in a great flight of much needed skills from Zimbabwe,” he said.
Also present at the function was the group chief executive of FBC Holdings Mr John Mushayavanhu.
