Eagles dip in Fifa rankings

Super Eagles further dropped seven places on the latest rankings released by the world football governing body, Fifa yesterday.

Coach Sunday Oliseh’s Eagles were categorised among the worst mover as the three-time African champions dropped to 66th position among football playing nations and 14th in Africa.

Eagles fortune was not helped within the period of ranking as their 2018 World Cup opponents, Swaziland which they barely overcome were not among the top ranked countries.

Cote d’Ivoire are now ranked first in Africa replacing hitherto Africa’s best, Algeria which dropped to the second spot.

1 Belgium, 2 Argentina, 3 Spain, 4 Germany, 5 Chile, 6 Brazil, 7 Portugal, 8 Colombia, 9 England, 10 Austria, *66 Nigeria.

Africa top 10:

1 Cote d’Ivoire, 2. Algeria, 3 Ghana, 4 Cape Verde, 5 Tunisia, 6 Senegal, 7 Congo, 8 Guinea, 9 Egypt, 10 Cameroon, *14 Nigeria. — supersport.com
